ATMP 50% (amino trimethylene phosphonic acid) is an economical organophosphonate threshold scale inhibitor. At just 1–5 ppm, ZEELCHEM™ 111 blocks calcium carbonate crystal growth in supersaturated water, and it blends well with PAA, PMA and zinc salts in cooling water and oilfield programmes.

What is the typical ATMP dosage?
1–10 ppm active in open cooling systems, and 10–20 ppm in oilfield waterflooding.
What are the purity and density of ZEELCHEM™ 111?
At least 50% active ATMP, specific gravity 1.32–1.35 g/cm³, and phosphorous acid at 3% or less.
Can ATMP be blended with other chemicals?
Yes. It blends with polyacrylic acid, maleic polymers and zinc sulfate for combined scale and corrosion control.
What is the temperature limit of ATMP?
It is stable to about 150 °C in normal aqueous solutions. Above 200 °C, HEDP or PMA is recommended.
What is the difference between ATMP and HEDP?
Both are threshold phosphonates. ATMP is a strong, economical carbonate inhibitor, while HEDP adds stronger metal chelation and higher thermal stability.
Is ATMP toxic to aquatic life?
It has very low acute toxicity to fish and aquatic invertebrates (LC50 > 300 mg/L) and is handled safely in standard ETP systems.
